Schnauder-ems Pottery (1964-2008)
Heinz Schnauder († 2017) and Eveline Maria Schnauder († 2013) learn the pottery craft from Günther Stüdemann. In 1961, Eveline Maria Schnauder (née Wierer) is the first woman in Thurnau to take the master's examination in pottery. From 1964 to 2008, the couple run their own workshop based in the Hopfenleithe. The closed-down Stüdemann workshop is rented from 1971 for the production of stove tiles and structural ceramics. In 1977, the pottery is again expanded by the purchase of the former Spielbühler pottery located on Schlossweiher.
The pottery production range is widely diversified. Tableware with the traditional slipware technique, stove tiles and structural ceramics, faience-painted or reduction-painted individual pieces and models are produced.
