Planmappe des Baumeisters Hirschstetter zur Burg Trausnitz in Landshut

Staatsarchiv Landshut

Description

The portfolio presented here, contains 13 plans, views, ground plans and detailed drawings of Trausnitz Castle in Landshut, created by the court master builder Georg Felix Hirschstetter (ca. 1720-1790). Its creation is dated to 1762, the portfolio contains, however, also contrasting drawings of conversions made in 1763. The portfolio, therefore, allows for the reconstruction of the complete original building stock and its use or of the change in use for each single building. The entire area of the castle complex is recorded, including the exterior castle gate and curtain wall as well as the free expanses enclosed by it.
