The Pinakothek der Moderne

With four important museums under one roof, the Pinakothek der Moderne (Gallery of Modern Art), which opened in 2002, is one of the world's largest houses for the exhibition of art, architecture and design of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The architecture of the spacious building with the glass rotunda invites visitors to discover connections and gain new, surprising insights. Exhibitions and events from diverse cultural areas complete the interdisciplinary programme.

Architecture

The Pinakothek der Moderne was planned by Stephan Braunfels (b. 1950) and is one of the largest spaces for the collections of modern and contemporary art, architecture and design in Europe.
