The Literaturportal Bayern (Bavarian Literature Portal) offers a comprehensive survey over the literary landscape in Bavaria, on its authors as well as on literary events.
The portal supplies information about authors past and present, places and events, decedents' estates, possibilities of sponsorship among other things. Information on literary institutions and archival material enables access for research. A map illustrates the history of literature in cities and regions. Connections between places and particular themes further encourage the discovery of the literary landscape of Bavaria.
The Literaturportal Bayern is a joint project with the Monacensia, the literary archive and library, and thus with an institute of the Münchner Stadtbibliothek (Munich City Library). It enjoys the support of the Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kunst (Bavarian Ministry for Science, Research and Art) as well as that of the city of Munich and is sponsored by the Bayerische Sparkassenstiftung (Foundation of the Bavarian Saving Banks).
